Be Inspired By Helping Hands

During trials and tribulations, triumphant moments are like rays of light bursting through a gray sky.  These moments then turn into stories, and are passed along in all the various ways of communication such as reading, listening and discussions in countless settings.

However, there is also the other very powerful way to experience a story, and that is visually.  Sometimes we know exactly what the story is by what we see in a picture or a film. Sometimes, we find the story within another, and at other times, we’re even allowed to imagine it ourselves.

My theme for this month’s Examiner column is a pictorial inspired by helping hands.  Like those rays of light bursting through the gray, hands reach out to help another, write a heartfelt message, pray for comfort, or prove the warmth that only a hug can give.

Please visit my column at http://www.examiner.com/article/be-inspired-by-helping-hands to see the show.

Well wishes ~

I am currently working on Editing Certification!

Hi everyone,

Hope all’s well!

I wanted to let my blog followers and visitors know that my blogging frequency, as well as my Examiner.com column writing frequency, has slowed down due to my enrollment in an Editing Certification program.

I am taking the Editing program at the University of Washington here in my home area of Seattle, WA.  I’m very excited about the class and the possibilities it expands for my writing and literary opportunities! The program completes this August of 2013, so please hang in there with my blogging and column writing.  I’ll be working to get posts out once at the end of each month during this time.

Well wishes to all!

Be Inspired by Joy

Year by year holiday shopping is introduced earlier and earlier as Thanksgiving items are rolled out before Halloween and Christmas before Thanksgiving.

Yet in the midst of all this early holiday hustle and bustle of packages and bows, it’s important to remember to take time in cultivating the joys that help shape your personal spirit of the season; even as they can change from year to year. Some years are light-hearted while others can be difficult, some busy or some simple, some full of family and friends while still others may find quiet time spent alone.

Still, as these situations and seasons change, there can be a chosen tradition of finding joy from wherever the inspiration arises, even the most unlikely of places…

Re-post from one of my recent and popular Examiner.com articles. For the complete article, visit my column at Examiner.com http://www.examiner.com/inspiration-in-seattle/nadia-riell.

Be Inspired By Stories Of Giving

We associate the Christmas season with giving and the opportunity to help others enjoy the holidays. Whether it’s our own family and friends, neighbors, others in need to, or giving of our time for service, the joy of giving seems to grow as bright as the twinkling lights that sprinkle the season.

So as we round the corner to Thanksgiving, with Christmas on it’s way, here are two different, but equally inspiring stories of others passion for giving…

Nadia Riell Featured In Local Author Spotlight

I want to say “Thank You” to Kate Policani for inviting me to be featured in her recent Examiner.com spotlight on local authors!

This feature comes at a great time when I am about to launch my new environmentally themed ebook for children titled Eco-ABC’s-An ABC Book About Our World.  I’m releasing this as a free ebook in support of the idea that it’s never to early to teach our children how special our world is and the joy we can have in caring for it.

For more information on Eco-ABC’s, updates will be posted on the “My Books” page here on my website.

I wish Kate well with her column and books, and a big thank you to my followers and buyers of my books!
