From voracious reading as a child that later grew into a passion for films, my own story is one that has always involved the love of stories.
It was my passion for film that led me early in my career to certification as a film make-up stylist. In this demanding but rewarding career I worked on studio and independent film sets, working with dozens of scripts. Within my film career I also worked as a press tour stylist for clients representing studios such Disney, Paramount, Miramax, and DreamWorks to name a few.
Adding to my love of stories, is my enthusiasm for theater, which included involvement in several theater productions. This included directing and co-producing a Seattle Fringe Festival production of Traveler In The Dark by Marsha Norman; a run that received one of the festival’s top reviews of the season.
Highlights from my own writing include contributing a national inspirational stories column for the former online publication Examiner.com, of which several columns were featured as national top ten articles. My enjoyment of children’s books led me to self-publish several of my own, including Inspiring Moments, Inspiring Life, a title previously featured with the Treehouse for Kids foster program book selections. More information about my books can be found by clicking on the cover photos on my Home page, and I’m looking to publish a new children’s picture book very soon!
As a final flourish about me, inspiring forces in my life include my children, nature, books, movies, and still on occasion, the perfectly red lipstick!
